What the heck?

What the heck?

Okay, I downloaded the installation file, and this was before I figured I'd need a download manager (since that seems to be the only option for this game now, since there is no torrent link at all), and both of them either didn't download fully, or stopped halfway. So I said "no big deal", and deleted them.

Unfortunately, the damn file wouldn't delete off my computer, only the cache from my web browser, because it's saying the file is "being run by another program" (even though it has 0 bytes on the file, so it's basically a ghost file eating up my computer's ram/memory).

Anyway, after downloading a download manager, I figured I could download the game using that, and it would overwrite the so-called "ghost file". Instead it just gives me a fucking duplicate file, with an addition of a (1) at the end, keeping the fucking ghost file still there.

I know my post will more likely get deleted, and I'll probably get banned for cursing, but I'd like to know how the hell to get that ghost file off. I've tried everything, and it's still there. I figured one of the processes on my computer, somehow, was running it in the background, but I turned those off, and it still wasn't deleting. I've also tried just restarting my computer, and then deleting it (like my web browser could've still been running it, even though it wasn't, and restarting it could've stopped it), but again, it wouldn't get deleted.

Now, if you don't mind, help me. And don't start by just deleting my post and banning me.

if in that case, I suggest you to reboot your PC, and you may delete them.
Sorry, our client is not a spy software.

For the download, if you use a download manager, I think you may finish download succesfully.
We will provide more download link in the future

Did you read my whole post? I already said I rebooted my computer. I can't delete it. The file is still saying that it's being used by another program.

Never mind.. I might have fixed it myself.. I'll keep you posted..

Edit: Yeah, I got it off now.. Sorry about the hostility. I'll see if I can redownload the file without any problems now.

Okay, I could download the game now, but now it's giving me an installation error, saying a file is corrupt, and it's the same one each time.

Here's a screenshot of the error:

Redownload the game and manually save it to different folder.  Also check to see if you have hard drive error by running scandisk before the download.
Move along or get run over...

I did that, and got past that file, but now another file is corrupted. A file called "08090084.wav".

Well, to get you up and running, try this:

Run installation program. If the corrupt file it gives you is a .WAV file, write the name of it down. Tell the installer to Ignore(skip) the file.
Now you can either:
1 - After the installer is finished, go to the folder and copy one of the other .WAV files, but rename it to the one that failed. You will have an incorrect sound somewhere in the game, but it won't affect gameplay.
2 - Ask someone here to provide you a link to a working copy of the single file you need that was corrupt.

Be sure to place the replacement file in the correct location so the Elf Online client can find it.

If anyone knows how to set up a torrent, let's do it....

Looks like there's more than one sound file that's corrupt.. Great. I think I'm just going to forget about it. No game is worth this much trouble just to install it.

Sorry, I suggest you to download it using a download software.

The client is corrupted because some file is missing during downloading. This is mostly caused by unstable internet condition
