About the griping and complaining....
----->>>>>Climbing onto his soapbox<<<<<-----
Ok guys, let's have a look at things here....
1. This is a free to play MMORPG. You don't have to pay a fee to play it. EVER!!!
2. In every other MMORPG I've ever played, people ENJOYED making guides to help others learn how to play the game or make gameplay easier. They never got paid.
3. Elf Online is still a work in progress. The game is still fairly new and word of mouth about it hasn't spread very much. HappyMMO would like to spur us to spread the word about the game which is why they are asking us to post on different forums.
4. Small startup companies do not have large advertising budgets. They likely have spent most of thier money on game designers, testing, and server maintenance. What little they have left is suposed to pay the bills to keep the electricity running to the server, pay for the server's internet access(likely a T1 line or a T3 line), and provide for salaries for network/server support staff. Our purchasing items through the Item Mall Shop helps them survive longer and keep the game free.
5. If there is something you do not like about a ANY game, constructive criticism will go further with developers, designers, and programmers than whining and complaining. Which of the following would you rather help: a person who makes a level headed post noting the difficulties encountered trying to interact with NPC's when in a party or the person who posts "OMG!!!This @%#$ game sucks!!!! I can't talk to NPC's when in a party!!! The GM's must be idiots!!!"
6. Remember what a GM is..... A Game Moderator.... not a Game Designer or programmer. They are our interface to the crew that does the bulk of the work. Abusing a moderator won't get things done any quicker, and your input(no matter how valid it might be) could be discarded as someone who is never satisfied with anything.
7. My final point. Flame me all you want I really don't care. It's just a game. Get over it. Nobody is twisting anyone's arms to play Elf. If you don't like the game and can't give constructive feedback, please move on to your next disappointing game now. We don't need you here. What we do need is people with positive attitudes who wish to make Elf a better game for everyone.
I have said what I felt needed to be said. Either you agree or disagree with me. Happy MMO has asked us, the free users of Elf Online, to help them with spreading the word about the game. We can either help them and make the game better for everyone(more players=more parties, more guilds, more personal shops, more people to ask for help, etc), or we can just let Elf die a slow painful death. Personally I enjoy playing the game which is why I am helping. I was already compiling a few lists of my own so I just published them to the community to help. Yes it is nice to get rewarded for doing something, but sometimes we should put a little effort into the game to help the programmers and designers.
In the end, it's just a game. A bunch of colored pixels on a screen.
Just stop the complaining and go play.

Have fun everyone!!!
