Cooking, how do I use it?

Ok I got the cooking skill, learned it, I have the recipe and the gahering technique and it says something about synthesizeing, but no other info. Can someone please explain to me how this is done.  Mucho appreciated!

You have to learn the recipe too. Right click on it then click yourself then press Alt+k.

Yeah I worked it out, got help in world, but thanx anywho:)
